Classes
Students will be given the opportunity to sign up to supplementary small groups and classes depending on their learning needs and/or English language level.
Groups are much smaller than traditional classroom settings (3-6 students) which means that students can work together with their peers under close supervision and guidance from their teacher. Groups and classes will be offered for both English Language learners and Exam Preparation.
For students who are LEARNING ENGLISH, group settings offer a great opportunity to develop
speaking skills in everyday situations and to practice their language skills with students of equal or
similar proficiency levels. Each group lesson will be based around a particular theme so as to expose
learners to various aspects of conversation. Groups will also allow for students to learn about the
English language around the world, as well as the various cultures and traditions of English-speaking
countries. Furthermore, groups will also incorporate learning English through drama and English
through music which focuses on speech, body language and listening skills as students will engage
with and discuss a variety of texts.
For students who are focusing on EXAM PREPARATION, a group setting offers an opportunity for
collaboration with peers. This empowers students to become more confident in their work as they can
share ideas and through peer assessment can learn how to use the official marking schemes to assess
their own work and closely monitor their learning.
